CHANGE CURRENCY:

Gold & Silver Morning Update 12/15/2025 | The Bregar Minute

Daily Update | Erik Bregar | 15 Dec, 2025

A strong start to the week for the precious and base metals overnight, largely because of very strong demand following an unsupportive CNY fixing that surprisingly failed to curtail yuan strength.  The Chinese currency kept rallying to a new 2025 high, lighting a flame under everything during the 8pmET hour, and the broad USD selling associated with it seemed to also help global stock market sentiment recover after the ridiculous ORCL shenanigans from Friday.  Early NY trade has been challenging for the precious metals because somebody keeps trying to slam them (8amET start-of-hour selling + the last 10mins of the 8amET hour alongside just a modest EURUSD pullback) despite steady stock / bond markets and very poor Empire State Manufacturing data.  Algo games now seem par for the course during North American trade, and so I wouldn’t be surprised if we get hit for some stupid reason again.  Hopefully some dovish soundbites from the Fed’s Miran can help counter some of that going into 10amET.
